Alex is a media lawyer with key experience in the broadcasting, film and television sector. At DLA Piper he has acted for TV channels, digital operators, content owners, publishing houses, film producers and media platforms (and has previously spent over five years practicing in-house at a major US Studio). He advises clients on a range of maters including key sponsorship agreements, complex content production and distribution arrangements and content rights acquisition (including premium sports rights).
Possessing strong working knowledge, Alex is familiar with: distribution, licensing and channel carriage arrangements; copyright and media regulatory matters; TV production agreements (including original commissions and co-production agreements); advertising regulatory matters; marketing and technical broadcast services – he also works with DLA's Corporate MSE team on sector M&A, including on television channel sales and film production company acquisitions.
