The future of live sports and entertainment events

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti has been a shining light of leadership during the coronavirus crisis, so this quote predictably got a lot of attention. If there will truly be no live sports or entertainment events for the rest of the year in LA, that will undoubtedly have a massive impact on what happens in the rest of the country if not the world given LA's outsized role and influence in the live space. Will we see more livestream events, no spectator sporting events, or something completely different? How will this change the nature of our business in future as folks get more used to experiencing all forms of entertainment from home.

Needless to say, our cutting edge media, sports and entertainment group is thinking ahead and looks to be a resource to our industry that is moving forward into an unpredictable future.

“It’s difficult to imagine us getting together in the thousands anytime soon, so I think we should be prepared for that this year,” Garcetti said. “Public health officials have made very clear we have miles and miles to walk before we can be back in those environments.”
