Women in sport event: Image rights – a cross border perspective

When the Forbes' ranking of the World's Highest-Paid Female Athletes was announced in December, it was the first time more than seven women had reached (or surpassed) the USD10 million earning milestone since the rankings started in 2008.

Protection and exploitation of image rights is a complex area, both for athletes seeking to protect and monetise their brand and for sports clubs, organisations and brands working or collaborating with them.

In this session we will explore a range of issues relating to image rights in sport including:

  • legal protections and how they differ across various jurisdictions
  • hot topics/issues e.g. protection of image rights in the metaverse and image rights issues relating to NFTs.

Full list of speakers to be announced, but will include speakers from a range of jurisdictions, including UK, US, Italy, Germany and the Middle East.

This event will be held on Zoom and joining instructions will be sent to you beforehand.
